I found a great video that may be of interest to some Lure Makers who make Hard Body Lures. This is quite innovative and useful and a great hack...

In Boat Setups & Innovations
Sharrow’s distinctive props won the NMMA Innovation Award at the 2020 Miami International Boat Show, thanks to a host of improvements over more traditional propellers. Performance enhancements delivered by Sharrow’s design include stronger propeller structure, reduced vibration, better handling, and higher speed per RPM. The company claims the props are up to 30 percent more efficient than the industry-leading conventional propeller designs, giving consumers better fuel economy and range. “Yamaha has world-wide respect for the quality and dependability of its products. We’re proud to have the opportunity to manufacture our high-tech propellers in Yamaha’s new, state-of-the-art casting facility in Indiana,” said Greg Sharrow, CEO of Sharrow Marine. “We’re also excited to have access to the Yamaha distribution network, which will dramatically accelerate our efforts to deliver the Sharrow Propeller to boaters across the world.” Yamaha will offer Sharrow Propellers for sale through its network of more than 2000 dealers, so boaters can easily retrofit their existing motors. They will also be available as an OEM option through Yamaha’s boatbuilder partners, with over 100 of world’s leading shipwrights having access to new design. Sharrow props will have unique SKU numbers for Yamaha dealers to easily order the new propellers for customers. Additionally, the agreement between Sharrow Marine and Yamaha Marine Precision Propellers will enable Sharrow Marine to manufacture its award-winning propellers in Yamaha’s state-of-the-art facility and foundry in Greenfield, Indiana. “Sharrow Marine’s choice of Yamaha as a manufacturing and distribution partner underscores Yamaha’s leadership position in the casting industry,” said Jonathon Burns, general manager, Yamaha US Marine Planning and Development. “Through our new relationship with Sharrow Marine, Yamaha can offer boat builders, dealers and customers an even greater number of options when it comes to maximizing boat performance through propeller selection.” If you know of other Innovation Products, designing your own or want to develop something, post it in the CODE LURES Forum today. Warning: Making Soft Plastic lures can involve high temperature liquid plastic under pressure and is inherently dangerous if spilled or mishandled. Proceed making lures at your own risk. In Biodegradable Product Dev
Hi Crew As a Soft Plastics Lure Maker, I have always been super conscious about our environment. Throwing Plastic in the water is not something I feel super comfortable about anymore...and I'd like to do what I can to help change things if I can... I think every Angler becomes an environmentalist in some way and I certainly think the industry needs to start moving in this direction, not just for Soft Plastics, but all materials that go into Lure Making if possible... The Challenge: Develop (or find someone who has already) RAW Materials that are bio-degradable that gives a similar result to using Plastisol for making Soft Plastics. The issue: Current Bio-Plastics are a great step forward but are not quite there for making Lures. When making amazing Soft Plastics, you really need a crystal clear solution that can be coloured into transparent colours or any other colour you like... As we know, cracking this problem could be worth big bucks. There are a number of Soft Plastic Lure Brands on the market that offer Biodegradable Soft Lures, but they are usually plant based starch materials that are milky, and are limited in colour design, especially for transparency. Most Bio-Lures are solid colours...meaning, developing a Lure that is transparent and can colour change is not going to happen... It's super awesome that this Bio-option is available, but I want to level-up and see if someone has the knowledge, skillet or interest in helping me develop / collaborate on a new bio-plastic product that offers a clear solution that can be mass-produced. The aim is to make/produce the raw material that can be offered to Lure manufacturers and hobby lure makers. I feel if given the choice, 98% of Lure Makers would use a Bio-Plastic if it had the right characteristics. It has to feel like Plastisol and development of a Bio-range of Glitters, Colorants, Pear Pigments, Hardeners & Softeners would be advantageous... Where Development is now: Sugar Cane, Rice, Cassava pulp starch are just some of the innovative solutions for Bio-Plastics...but it just doesn't hit the mark for commercial and hobby lure making at the high-end level.... It's been applied to single use Plastics in Packaging, Shopping Bags, Coffee Cups etc...but nothing commercially applicable for Lure Making that offers unrestricted creativity. If you have anything to weigh-in on here...I am open for contact & discussion on how a solution can be developed to solve this issue & make a Bio-Product (Hot or Cold) that gives Lure Makers complete flexibility in production and colour innovation. I'm keen to here everyone's take on this... Andrew Turnbull codelures@gmail.com

In Show & Tell (Lures & Catches)
Hi guys, my name is Andrew Turnbull and I am the founder of CODE LURES. I started CODE LURES because of the gap in knowledge I had when I first started out making Soft Plastics and all the ideas I had for innovation of Jig Head design, Profile design and creating new products. My brain never stops... Questions like, Who do I go to to get something made? Who can design the Molds I want? Who can mass-produce this product? Who can do the CAD design for me? All valid questions for someone that wants to know these things right...so I am hoping CODE LURES becomes the central point of contact for anyone who is interested in designing and developing products for the fishing industry and can connect with site members who know from years of experience... Lure Development: A few years ago now, I sold my Lure business "Gobblers Lures" to my good friend and colleague, Wayne Palmer...although, the skill of making Lures never leaves and I'm still constantly thinking of new innovations, designs and colours. I'm hoping I can share my skills and get involved in projects with forum members... I have been developing lures and colours with Soft Plastic for over 10 years. I have written a book on the topic Cracking the Code - Dominating on the water using Soft Plastics which you can download for free in a PDF format by clicking the link above or Image below.... On one of my development trips, I headed to New Zealand to try my luck on the Atlantic Salmon that escape from the pens around the fish farms. It's encouraged to fish for them. I was testing a new profile and colour combination and thought long and hard about the application for months before I made the colours. It had always been on my bucket list to try for these awesome fish, so I made up several colours that I though would be useful depending on the weather, overcast or sunny and the water conditions I may find when I arrived. I took the family, we jumped on a jet from Brisbane and headed to New Zealand. New Zealand is a magical place. The colour of the water in the lakes is truly amazing and I decided to use one of my new colour changing transparent Lures in the Curl Tail profile, considering I was in a landlocked freshwater lake with no current. The Curl tail would ensure action and the transparent colour change in the lure would take on the natural colours of the water around it. It worked... 2nd cast, BANG...3kg Alpine New Zealand Atlantic Salmon! The local beside me had been there for 2 days and still hadn't caught anything. He helped me out with a net (of course I didn't take one on the plane) and I left him with a handful of Lures, which he later contact me as told me they completely change their luck. They caught 6 fish in one afternoon ;-) About Me: I am a fisherman, saltwater predominantly. I am a Lure Maker. I am super interested in helping others design and develop Lures & Colours, Bio-Plastic development. (If you know anyone that can develop this, let me know), Innovative Jig Head Design, People who do custom Soft Plastics Mold Making & CAD Designing, Testing of innovative products & Reviews. Reach out anytime. Andrew Turnbull

Hi Crew. My name is Andrew Turnbull and I have been fishing all my life. For the past 10 Years I have been creating Soft Plastic Fishing Lures and I started Gobblers Lures which I owned for 7 years before selling it to my sponsored Angler, Wayne Palmer 3 years ago. (He is doing very well with it). My specialty is creating new Soft Plastic Lure Colours & Designs. I wrote a Book on the Topic that you can download for free called Cracking the Code - Dominating on the water using Soft Plastics I can create small-batch production minded colours that absolutely dominate for their intended purpose and deliver a selection of colours in a range Kits for testing! I will list down the recipe for each colour I create and ship it off to you and we can collaborate throughout the process with images and video as well as product testing to catch fish and show the results. Feel free to leave me a message or contact me direct if you think I can help you create a line of Soft Plastic Lure Colours for production that are sure to impress.
